Your clinician’s instructions come first
Aftercare differs between superficial and deeper peels, microneedling protocols and injectable procedures. Use the written plan provided by the treating clinician; a generic product article cannot determine when your skin is ready for each step.
In many cases the temporary base is gentle cleansing, a bland moisturizer and the sun protection approved for that procedure. Do not add a new acid, retinoid, scrub or fragranced product simply because the skin feels different.
Return to routine gradually
After a peel or microneedling, active products are usually reintroduced only after the barrier has recovered and the clinician confirms timing. After injections, skincare may remain simple around sensitive treatment areas, with rubbing and unnecessary manipulation avoided according to aftercare instructions.
Use clean hands, avoid picking and do not improvise home treatments over a healing area.
When to contact the clinic
Contact the treating clinic for symptoms that are worsening, unexpected or outside the written aftercare plan. Urgent symptoms require prompt medical assessment. Product recommendations should always be matched to the exact procedure and current skin condition.
