Summer and Winter Skincare in Israel: What Should Change?

Summer priorities

Heat, perspiration and coastal humidity often make fewer layers and lighter textures more comfortable. Use gentle cleansing rather than repeatedly stripping sweat and oil, and choose a sunscreen you can reapply. Water resistance is useful for outdoor activity, but no formula is waterproof.

If the skin becomes shiny yet tight in air conditioning, it may need lighter hydration rather than stronger cleansing.

Winter priorities

Cooler air, wind, heating and air conditioning can increase dryness. A creamier cleanser, richer moisturizer and fewer exfoliating nights may improve comfort. Apply moisturizer soon after cleansing while the skin is slightly damp.

Sunscreen remains relevant in winter because UV exposure does not disappear with lower temperature.

Change one variable at a time

Do not rebuild the whole routine on the first weather change. Adjust cleanser or moisturizer texture first, then reconsider active frequency. Sensitive or procedure-treated skin may need a slower seasonal transition.
